Dennis Lubert dominated Ohio State batters on the way to a 9-1 victory, striking out 11 and scattering seven hits. The only extra base hit Lubert allowed was a 3rd inning home run. On offense Carolina got rolling in the third, scoring one, but really exploded in the fifth when Chris Boyle and Jamey Thaw hit back to back home runs. Shortstop Rod Carraway had three hits, while Boyle, Jim Curl and Paul Hollins each picked up a pair as Carolina won its fifth straight game.
