Clemson led only once during the game, at 33-32 in the second half, and Ronnie Collins and Jim Collins scored back to back baskets to retake the lead immediately after. Ronnie Collins (14) and Scotti Ward (10) were the only Carolina players in double figures. The edge in the game came at the free throw line, where USC made 17 of 21 while Clemson was only 9 of 15.
