Game Site: Columbia, SC Game Synposis: USC scored the first four points of the game on a tap-in by Tom Hutto and a shot by center Gene Alexander and never looked back as they rolled over the College of Charleston Maroons 41-18. The Gamecocks held an 18-5 lead at the end of the first half following a string of successful free throws by Bill Simpson and George Kanuck and a shot by Archie Petty. Simpson would score the rest of his 10 points in the second half, while Hutto had eight of his game high twelve in the last twenty minutes. The win gave Carolina a strong start to the 1937-38 season.
