Carolina trailed 33-29 at the half before a second half rally resulted in the win. Four players scored in double figures - Art Whisnant (17), Bobby Robinson (15), Ronnie Johnson (14) and Bob Frantz (11). Mike Callahan added nine points and dominated the boards in the game. The win improved USC's record in the ACC to 4-7 while State dropped to 8-8.
