Game Site: Columbia, SC Game Synposis: Linwood Moye led the Gamecocks as they raced out to a big halftime lead against Central Florida then turned it into a complete rout ending with a 89-46 final score. Moye scored 17 points in the first half (23 overall) as USC got out to a 16-6 lead and then grew that into a 42-21 lead at the break. In the second half USC went on another run, outscoring UCF 12-3 to push it to 56-28. Coach Bill Foster, in an effort to clear the bench, played four guards and forward Tarone Thorton for the final six minutes, but even that unorthodox lineup outscored UCF 16-7. Eleven different players would score for the Gamecocks, including double figure games from Keith James (14) and Thorton (10). The 43 point margin was the largest for Carolina since a 49 point win (104-55) over DePauw in 1973.
