DAKOTA WALKER

2005 / 2006
Mays Landing, NJ
Walker was one of the big names in USC’s 2004 recruiting class. Among his honors were being named All-State, All-South Jersey and the Atlantic Press Player of the Year in 2004. He played in the New York / New Jersey All-Star Game and the U.S. Army All-America Game. He tied for the team lead in sacks in 2005 while working as a reserve defensive end. Two of his sacks came in the second half against Arkansas. He made the coaches’ Freshman All-SEC team at the end of that season. Walker was tried at both defensive end at outside linebacker in 2006 and had his best game against Wofford when he had five tackles, a tackle for loss and forced a critical fumble – USC led by just seven, with Wofford at the Carolina 10 with 29 seconds left. Walker forced a fumble on Wofford’s fourth down play and teammate Cody Wells recovered to secure the win. Walker transferred to Georgia Southern after 2007 spring practice. He made five starts for GSU in 2007 while recording 30 tackles and six for losses. As a senior he had 55 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks while being named All-Southern Conference.
