| Senior Andre Streete earned his first point of the year on Senior Day, lifting Carolina to 1-0 Conference USA win over Alabama-Birmingham. Streete recovered a loose ball near the endline and sent it in to soph Petter Soelberg, who put in his third goal of the season and the eventual game winner. The Gamecocks had multiple chances throughout the match, coming up with some near misses on shots by Luca Mayr, Justin Sukow and Tucker Monheimer. USC also failed to score on a missed penalty kick by Peyton Ericson midway through the second half. Senior keeper Ian McGrane celebrated his next to last final home game by making two second half saves for the shutout. The Gamecocks reached the .500 mark at home (5-5) with the win in addition to picking up their first conference win. |
