Biography |

Urban began his career at USC as a center, starting some in 1938. After being academically ineligible in 1939 he blossomed as an end in 1940, earning honorable mention All-America honors from the Associated Press. Among his higlights were catching two touchdown passes in a 20-13 win over Kansas State, including a 65-yarder for the game winner, and returned interceptions for scores against both Georgia (60 yards) and Clemson (62 yards). Urban played five seasons with the Green Bay Packers (1941-45), leaving the Gamecocks with a season of eligibility to join the NFL. He was named to the Pre-World War II All-Time USC Team. |
