The son of USC linebacker Al Usher, Trent was a three-time All-Region quarterback and defensive back at Pageland Central in addition to being named Mr. Football by The High School Sports Report in 2003. Usher also played in the Shrine Bowl that year. He redshirted in 2003 while working at safety but transferred to Coastal Carolina in 2004 after the coaching change from Lou Holtz to Steve Spurrier. Usher played defensive back, quarterback and wide receiver during his career with the Chanticleers, catching 11 passes for 123 yards in 2007. |
