Biography

Wright was the second commitment in the 2005 class for the Gamecocks, committing to USC over Clemson in July 2004 before an all-state senior season that also saw him play in the 2004 Shrine Bowl. Wright was twice named All-Region and was the Region 6 Defensive Player of the Year in 2004. The High School Sports Report ranked him 12th in the state among 2004 seniors. He redshirted in 2005 before becoming a member of the special teams units in 2006, playing in six games. Wright played in just one game in 2007 but was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll. He transferred after spring practice in 2008 to North Greenville College. He was named an All-American by the National Christian College Athletic Association for his play in the 2009 season.
