MICHAEL AGES Wide Receiver 1999 / 2002 Rex, GA

Biography

A four-year starter at quarterback and defensive back at Morrow, Ages accounted for 16 touchdowns on offense while picking off four passes on defense. He earned MVP honors at a Georgia football camp that summer, then passed for around 800 yards a s a senior, rushing for 500 more and intercepting seven passes on defense. Ages originally committed to Georgia Tech, then signed on with USC over Boston College and Georgia. He was tried at both cornerback and wide receiver in 1999, starting once (against Arkansas). Injuries slowed Ages as a sophomore, though he did play in eight games. He bounced back to start three games in 2001, the first two and the finale against Clemson, where he had his longest catch of the season (14 yards). Ages had offseason shoulder surgery in 2002 but became much more of a factor as a senior that year. He had three games with over 50 yards receiving – Georgia, Vanderbilt and Kentucky, with his big play on the year being a 57-yard reception that set up a Daniel Weaver field goal in a 16-12 win over the Wildcats. He is the founder and co-owner of The Training Room PHX in Phoenix, Arizona.
