Biography
Amick was named All-State, All-Conference and the Class AA Lineman of the Year in 1985 at Chapin where he played for former Gamecock Eddie Muldrow. He played in the North-South All-Star Game after his senior year and redshirted in 1986 with the Gamecocks. Torn ligaments in his ankle wiped out his 1987 season. Amick was tried on the offensive line in 1988 and played in the season’s first two games before injuries ended his season. He was moved back to the defensive line in 1989 and was the top backup to Marty Dye at right defensive tackle as the season began.
