| Biography |

| Ashton was a member of state championship teams at Hopewell in 1949 and 1951. He enrolled at Staunton Military and eventually made his way to South Carolina. He left the team early in the 1958 season but returned and started some before taking over full time as a starter in 1959. He went to training camp with the Green Bay Packers in 1960. He was inducted into the Hopewell Hall of Fame in 2012. |
