| Askins was named All-Region in both 2000 and 2001 and earned All-State honors as a senior. He joined the team as a walk-on in 2003. He was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll that year, a feat he would repeat in 2004 and 2005. Askins won the Most Improved Tight End award at the conclusion of 2005 spring practice and went on to start five games that season. He had an 11-yard touchdown pass from Syvelle Newton in USC’s 35-28 win over the Commodores in 2005 and also scored against Missouri in the bowl game that year. He is an attorney in Hemingway now. |
