JERRY AUBIN
Wide Receiver
1979 / 1981
Albany, GA
Biography
Aubin was named the Class AAA Offensive Player of the Year in 1977 when he was considered one of the top two quarterback prospects in Georgia. A top baseball prospect as well, he was drafted in the first round of the 1978 MLB draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Aubin played one season of minor league baseball before giving up baseball and enrolling at USC. He began his freshman season playing quarterback for USC’s junior varsity team, and was at the helm of a 50-0 win over Clemson’s JV, throwing two touchdown passes and rushing for another. He saw some time late in the year with the varsity as a running back and return man. Aubin was moved to wide receiver in 1980. He started the first four games of 1981 and caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from Gordon Beckham against Pittsburgh. A dislocated shoulder kept him much of the rest of that season. He lives in the Atlanta area now.
