| Lyerly was a three-year starter at Ridge View HS and was named in All-Region in 2008 and 2009 as well as being named All-Area in 2009. He recorded 152 tackles and 5 sacks as a senior. Lyerly signed with Newberry in 2010 but did not see playing time; he walked on to the USC squad in 2012. |
