WAYNE TUCKER End 1963 / 1965 Moultrie, GA |
Biography |
---|
Tucker earned All-State honors from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as a senior in 1961 before signing on with the Gamecocks. He saw minimal time in 1963 and spent the next two seasons backing up All-ACC receiver J.R. Wilburn at split end. Tucker’s best days as a senior came against Duke, Alabama and Maryland each of whom he caught two passes against. He also caught a pass from Mike Fair to convert a two-point conversion against the Terps for the lone points he scored as a Gamecock. Also a contributor on special teams, Tucker had a big play against Tennessee that year when he nailed a Vol punt returner for a one yard loss. He lives in the Atlanta area now. |
