Quarterback
1977 / 1981
Lyons, GA
Biography
Vaughn quarterbacked Lyons High to the Class B State Championship in 1975, earning honorable mention All-State honors from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution along the way. He quarterbacked some on the 1977 freshman/JV team and played defensive back. He earned a late seasons call-up to the varsity and picked off a pass against Hawaii. Vaughn was listed as the second string strong safety going into the 1978 season, but moved to free safety once the year began, backing up Robert Perlotte. He redshirted in 1979 and spent the next two seasons as a reserve quarterback.
