KEN WHEAT Defensive Tackle 1969 / 1971 Milledgeville, GA

Biography

Wheat was a key reserve along the defensive front his final two seasons after being switched from offensive guard early in trhe 1970 season. He had sacks against Duke (with Rick Brown) and Wake Forest (with Kevin Mooney) and a tackle for loss against Florida State in 1970. Wheat missed the season finale against Clemson after suffering a knee injury against Duke that required surgery. He was named one of the game captains for the 1971 game against Memphis State. He also sacked N.C. State quarterback Pat Korsnick on an attempt for a 2-point conversion in USC’s 24-6 win over the Wolfpack. He has had a successful career as president of a property development company in Columbia.
