CHRIS WHITE
Offensive Guard
2002 / 2006
Chester, SC
Biography
White was generally rated the number two in-state lineman in 2001 behind future teammate Jabari Levey and earned All-State and Shrine Bowl honors that year. PrepStar named him to their All-America list while Rivals.com had him as the #39 offensive lineman nationally. White picked USC over Clemson as well as offers from Maryland and North Carolina. It looked like his career was over before it started as it was initially feared a neck condition may keep him from playing, but White was cleared and after a redshirt year became a fixture on the Gamecock offensive line. He took over as a starter against LSU in 2003 and started the last six games of the year, earning Freshman All-SEC honors from The Sporting News. White started 10 of 11 games in 2004. He won Most Improved Offensive Lineman in the spring of 2005 then was one of only two offensive players to start all twelve games. He won Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman in spring 2006 then started all thirteen games as a senior. White got a couple of shots at the NFL, with the Eagles in 2007 camp and Seahawks in 2008.
