Biography
Williams was named to the Miami News’ All-County team in 1974 and originally signed with Tampa University, but that schooled dropped football after signing day in 1975 and chose South Carolina over West Texas State after suddenly finding himself without a school. He began the 1976 season as the #2 flanker behind Stevie Stephens but fell behind freshman phenom Zion McKinney as the season went on. Williams was converted to running back in 1977 and saw time while backing up Johnnie Wright and Spencer Clark over the next two seasons.
