JOSH WINCHELL
Offensive Guard
2004 / 2004
Southhaven, MS
Biography
An all-state lineman from Mississippi, Winchell was Tom Lemming’s number ten prospect in that state and Rivals.com’s 22nd ranked offensive guard nationally. Winchell chose USC over Memphis and Kentucky. He redshirted in 2004 in Lou Holtz’s last season but chose to transfer after 2005 spring practice after falling out of favor with Steve Spurrier. Winchell spent two seasons at Northwest Mississippi Community College, then transferred to Kentucky for the 2007 season. He had to give up football before the 2008 season due to recurring knee injuries.
