GLENN WOODLEY Defensive Tackle 1980 / 1984 Charlotte, NC

Biography

Woodley was an all-state nose guard as a senior at North Mecklenburg High School before signing on with the Gamecocks. After beginning the year as the top baclup to Rickey Hagood at middle guard Woodley was named by the coaches as Defensive Player of the Week against Georgia in 1983. He finished the season second only to Hagood in tackles for loss. Woodley won a starting defensive tackle spot in 1984 and though a sprained ankle suffered against The Citadel slowed him some he still led the team in tackles for loss. He was named Defensive Player of the Week against East Carolina and also had a big game against Pittsburgh with 10 tackles and a sack. Woodley returned to the Charlotte area after graduation and works for UPS.
