LARRY WRIGHT
Offensive Guard
1992 / 1993
Jacksonville, FL
Biography
One of Sparky Woods’ highest profile signees in 1992, Wright had been named All-State and to the Jacksonville Super 11, Florida Super 24 and CNN’s All-South team. He also played in the Florida-Georgia All-Star Game after his senior year. Wright picked the Gamecocks over Florida State in February 1992. He came in as a touted defensive lineman and lined up there while redshirting in 1992, but injuries along the offensive front saw him shift to that side of the ball in 1993. After starter Luther Dixon went down with a broken leg Wright moved into the starting lineup against Vanderbilt. He was named academically ineligible before spring practice in 1994.
