A standout in football and basketball at North Marion, Yarn played quarterback and defensive back in football and was the starting point guard on the hardwoods. He was a candidate for playing time at corner as a true freshman but a broken arm in fall camp led to a redshirt season. Fall camp in 2000 didn’t go much better for Yarn, as he tore his ACL and missed all of that season as well. He was listed as the top backup to Antione Nesmith at free safety at the time of that injury. Yarn saw limited playing time in 2001, then transferred in 2002 to Tampa where he gave up football to play basketball. Yarn would eventually transfer one more time, to West Florida, where he also played basketball. Yarn is currently the head JV basketball coach at North Marion HS and in 2011 became the first person to coach and play in the Alachua County – Marion County basketball all-star game. |
