Cody Morris impropved to 2-0 on the year as he and four Gamecock relievers combined to beat Charleston Southern 14-2. Morris allowed a solo home run to the second hitter he faced but then shut the Buccaneers down for the most part before leaving in the sixth due to a leg cramp. Every Gamecock starter had a hit in the game Carlos Cortes, LT Tolbert, Justin Row and Hunter Taylor all had a pair of hits while Cortes, Row and Jacob Olson homered. Charleston Southern's 1-0 lead last until the second whan an RBI single from Taylor and a 2-run single from Noah Campbell gave USC the lead. Carolina never relinquished that lead and a six run sixth inning pushed the lead out to 14-2 and Mark Kingston cleared the bench at that point.
