Carolina stunned the second-ranked Gators as the USC bats exploded, jumping on Florida right out of the gate in a 15-7 win. Freshman Noah Campbell got the fireworks started by opening the game with an inside the park home run as he hit a liner off the top of the right field wall. After a TJ Hopkins single Madison Stokes launched an opposite field homer for a 3-0 lead. The Gamecocks led 4-1 going into the sixth when they added five more runs thanks to an RBI single from LT Tolbert, a 2-run duoble by Jonah Bride and a 2-run single from Matt Williams. Florida would pull back as close as 9-6 but the Carolina offense added six more runs in the bottom of the 8th, highlighted by back to back homers from Hunter Taylor and Jacob Olson. Colby Lee made his first appearance of the year and held the Gators to one final run in the ninth to close things out.
