The Gamecocks used small ball to defeat Harvard 12-3, as all of Carolina's 14 hits were singles and they stole five bases in the win. The first matchup ever between these two schools saw USC pitchers strike out 14 batters, highlighted by freshman Parker Coyne, who earned his first win by pitching 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief and striking out four. The game was close early, as Harvard scored one in the top of the first, but USC took the lead back right away on RBI singles from Madison Stokes and LT Tolbert. Noah Campbell scored on a fielder's choice in the third to make it 3-1, but the Crimson were keeping it close in the top of the fourth thanks to a solo homer from Austin Black made it 3-2. Carolina would break it open from there, scoring four in the fourth and five in the seventh. Campbell scored three times and Hopkins drove in three in the win. Relievers Coyne, Sawyer Bridges, Hunter Lomas and Graham Lawson combined for 4 2/3 innings of scoreless relief in the last game before SEC play starts.
