Carolina stopped a three game losing streak and played its best game of the season in beating #19 LSU 11-0. Freshman Logan Chapman, making his first Friday night start, limited the Tigers to a pair of singles in six and 2/3 innings before handing the ball off to Sawyer Bridges and Hunter Lomas. Bridges came in with two baserunners on in the 7th but forced a ground out to get out of the inning and keep the shutout intact. Center fielder T.J. Hopkins returned to the lineup for the first time in a couple of weeks since being hit on the hand and celebrated with a double and triple and four RBI. Carlos Cortes homered to start the scoring in the first and USC added a pair of runs in the third and seventh before blowing it open in the eighth. A 3-run triple by Hopkins was the highlight of a six run inning, allowing Lomas to coast through a scoreless top of the ninth.
