Carolina claimed a regional championship in Greenville with an 8-4 win over UNC-Wilmington, as the Gamecocks swept through the region undefeated, winning all three games. USC scored two runs in the third and then every time the Seahawks tried to inch closer the Gamecock offense had an answer. Carlos Cortes and Jonah Bride singled in the third, then after a walk to Justin Row, catcher Hunter Taylor doubled off the glove of UNC-W shortstop Greg Jones. Both Cortes and Bride scored to make it 2-0. The Seahawks scored one off USC starter Carmen Mlodzinski in the bottom of the third. Carolina would score next, putting two more up in the top of the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Madison Stokes that scored Danny Blair and an RBI single from LT Tolbert that brought Cortes home. After the Seahawks cut it to 4-3 o a home run by Kep Brown Mlodzinski was relieved by Eddy Demurias. He would give up just one run over the next three innings. In the meantime the Gamecock offense continued to add runs. Two more runs came in the top of the seventh as Danny Blair reached on an error, Cortes walked and Stokes doubled to score both of them. Carolina added two more in the ninth on a single by Stokes and a home run by Jonah Bride. Demurias allowed a pair of singles to open the ninth and was replaced by Sawyer Bridges. The Seahawks would score one on a sac fly but Bridges shut them down from there to claim the region championship. Danny Blair was named Most Outstanding Player, while Justin Row, LT Tolbert, Carlos Cortes and Cody Morris were named to the All-Regional team along with Blair. USC advanced to face Arkansas in Fayetteville for the Super Regional.
