Greenville News - South Carolina got home runs from Chris Boyle, Kent Anderson and Larry Hernandez Monday night to beat Pembroke State 13-4. Mike Werner (3-2) pitched the first seven innings for Carolina, allowing six hits, three of them home runs. Forace Oxendine hit a bases-empty homer for the Braves in the third inning, Clark Nance homered with one aboard in the fifth and James White followed with a homer in the fifth. Boyle, who also had two singles, hit a three-run homer for the Gamecocks in the first inning. Anderson homered with two aboard in the fifth and Hernandez hit a solo shot in the seventh, his fourth in USC's past five games.
