Gamecock outfielder John Munn provided heroics with a two-out walk-off single to give USC a 9-8 win over Presbyterian. The game was aloppy with nine errors by the two teams combined and USC starting pitcher Ernie Stokes lasted only an inning and two thirds. The Blue Hose got out to a 6-0 lead in the first two innings, but Gamecock reliever Chuck Brown allowed only two runs in seven and a third innings of work. USC chipped away at the lead and right fielder Clay Alexander drove in two runs and ended up scoring the winning run on Munn's ninth inning single.
