Carolina sprung out to a 5-0 in the first three innings, then held on through a rocky middle of the game for a 6-4 win and series sweep of Princeton. LT Tolbert's first inning 3-run homer was the big blast of the game. A triple by Noah Campbell in the second led to another run, as Madison Stokes singled to bring Campbell home. A solo home run from Carlos Cortes in the bottom of the third pushed it to 5-0. Eddy Demurias, making his first USC start, cruised through the first three innings, but struggled through the fourth and part of the sixth as the Tigers crept back into the game. An RBI double from Madison Stokes in the bottom of the eighth gave the Gamecocks some breathing room and freshman Carmen Mlodzinski closed the game out by retiring the final three batters.
