As they have through much of the last half of the year, the Gamecocks fell behind but rallied and evened the series with Texas A&M with a 5-3 win. The Aggies struck first, stringing together a walk and two singles to score a run in the bottom of the second off Adam Hill. The same grouping produced two runs in the bottom of the third as a single by A&M catcher Hunter Coleman pushed the lead to 3-0. Hill shut A&M down for the next two innings to give Carolina a chance to climb back into the game. With two out in the fourth Justin Row singled and went to third on errors, then scored on a single to left by LT Tolbert. The Gamecocks would take the lead in the top of the fifth. Jacob Olson led the inning off with a double, then Matt Williams reached on an error and Noah Campbell was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Carlos Cortes singled to score Olson and an error on the play allowed Williams to score the tying run. Campbell scored the go-ahead run on a ground out by Row. Graham Lawson took over on the mound in the sixth and gave one of the best relief performances of the year, giving up just one hit and striking out three in four innings of work.
