44 degree weather and a struggling offense led for a low scoring game as Georgia shut out Carolina 3-0 for a series sweep. Gamecock starter Ridge Chapman held the Bulldogs to just one hit over his 4 1/3 innings but his wildness hurt him. Among Chapman's five walks was a lead off walk in the 4th to Keenan McGovern, who then advanced on a wild pitch and scored on a double by Michael Curry. A sac fly brought Curry home as the deficit increased to 2-0. Georgia added another run in the 7th on a leadoff double, a bunt and a sacrifice fly. The Gamecocks could manage only four hits, singles by Justin Row, Jonah Bride, Chris Cullen and Kyle Jacobsen, but they were spaced out and USC never plated a run.
