USC bounced back from a couple of difficult games to blast 10th ranked Kentucky 15-1. Sophomore Cody Morris set the tone for Carolina, striking out 10 in six innings and allowing only a single run. Hunter Taylor's RBI double in the second got the Gamecocks on the board first, but it was the six run third inning that really broke the game open. Taylor and Jonah Bride each blasted home runs, with Taylor's shot bringing in two and Bride hitting a three-run homer. Carolina's 7-0 lead expanded again in the 5th, as LT Tolbert opened the inning with a solo home run and Jacob Olson delivered a two-run double. Two more runs came in in the sixth on a wild pitch and RBI groundout from Matt Williams to make it 12-1. The final three runs crossed the plate in the 8th, on an RBI single by Williams and a double by Taylor that brought two more in. Kentucky's only run came on a solo homer by shortstop Trey Dawson in the third.
