Carolina fell behind again, this time in a home loss to Missouri as USC couldn't dig their way out of the hole this time. Starters Logan Chapman (USC) and TJ Sikkeman (Missouri) matched goose eggs through the first three innings before the Gamecocks broke the tie with a single by LT Tolbert that scored Jonah Bride. The Tigers answered in the top of the fifth, getting two runners on before Chapman was replace by Eddy Demurias. Missouri's Brian Sharp greeted Demurias with a 2-run single and the Tigers added another run before the inning ended. Missouri scored two more off Demurias in the top of the sixth to push the lead to 5-1. There appeared to be hope in the 8th when Tolbert was hit by a pitch and then scored when Hunter Taylor launched his eighth homer of the year to make it 5-3, but Tigers closer Nile Ball retired the Gamecocks in the ninth with no further damage.
