Adam Hill struck out eight and pitched seven shutout innings while his teammates staked him to a 4-0 lead as Carolina hung to defeat Missouri 6-3 and even the series. Hill allowed just four hits and two walks in defeating the Tigers on Senior Day. Hill dominated the first inning, striking out the side, then the USC offense followed suit, starting the game with a single by Noah Campbell and a double by Carlos Cortes. Ground outs by Madison Stokes and Jonah Bride brought home those two runners for a 2-0 lead. Justin Row opened the bottom of the fourth with a solo homer, then Hunter Taylor walked, Jacob Olson singled and Taylor scored on a bunt by Matt Williams. After a delay due to lightning the lead swelled to 6-0 in the bottom of the seventh. Cortes reached on an error and Stokes singled, setting up a two-run double by LT Tolbert. Ridge Chapman took over for Hill in the top of the 8th and struggled, giving up a homer, a single and a walk before exiting. Sawyer Bridges relieved him and after giving up a double that scored two settled down and got out of the inning. He pitched a scoreless ninth, striking out two.
