The streaking Gamecocks stunned #4 Ole Miss with an offensive explosion, defeating the Rebels 13-5. Carolina led 3-1 after one, thanks to a two-run single by Hunter Taylor, and never looked back nor let up. The Rebs cut it to 3-2 in the top of the third, but USC countered with four more runs in the bottom, highlighted by LT Tolbert's two-run double. Carolina put the game away for good in the bottom of the fourth with five more runs on an RBI groundout by Tolbert, an Ole Miss error, and a three-run homer from Jacob Olson, his tenth of the year. An RBI double by Matt Williams accounted for the final run. Logan Chapman started for USC, giving up three runs in four innings. TJ Shook picked up his third win of the year in relief of Chapman, while Ridge Chapman and Graham Lawson closed out the game with three scoreless innings of bullpen work.
