The Gamecocks fell behind Tennessee 3-1 in the fourth, but rallied for a 6-3 victory and the third straight sweep of the Vols. The turning point came in the seventh as Tennessee held a 3-2 lead and had the bases loaded. Reliever TJ Shook entered the game and ran the count to 3-0 against the Vols' #3 hitter, Andre Lipcius. Shook battled back and struck out Lipcius, keeping UT from adding to their lead. Carolina tied the game in the bottom of the seventh when LT Tolbert walked, Jonah Bride was hit by a pitch and Matt Williams singled. With the bases full and two out Riley Hogan worked a walk to force in the tying run. USC took the lead in the 8th as freshman Kyle Jacobsen singled and then scored on a Jacob Olson double. Matt Williams added a double that scored Olson and Bride to make it 6-3 and Eddy Demurias pitched a scoreless ninth for his third win of the year.
