Game Site: Columbia, SC Game Synposis: The Gamecocks had won four of the last five against Florida, but an almost complete absence of offense doomed them in this game. USC shot just 33% in the first half and an even worse 22% in the second half as only guard Frank Booker (17 points) was able to put up any consistent scoring. The first half defense wasn't much better - USC often did a good job of forcing the Gators to work deep into the shot clock but then gave up an open three or some other quality shot at the end. Booker hit 6 of 13 field goals, including a pair of three pointers, while Chris Silva (10 points) was the only other Carolina player in double figures. Silva spent much of the game in foul trouble and sat out the final six minutes of the first half after drawing his second personal. USC was also outrebounded 46-24 in the game.
