| Before coming to Carolina Abbott narrowly missed a spot on the 1996 Canadian Olympic team, finishing third in the 200 meter breaststroke. Abbott set a school record at USC in the 200 meter breaststroke in 1997 with a time of 2:15.18. She finished ranked 24th nationally that year. Abbott, feeling homesick for the West Coast, transferred to the University of Washington after the season. |
