| The 12th ranked Gamecocks improved to 11-2 on the season and 5-1 in conference with a 1-0 victory over Florida Sunday. Carolina's victory saw junior keeper Mikayla Krzeczowski break the school record for career shutouts with all of this season and next still to go. Standout freshman Selma Sol Magnusdottir accounted for the game's only goal with a beautiful strike from just inside the box, coming off a pass from Elexa Bahr. Captain Grace Fisk also was key to the clean sheet, as she stopped a shot after a Florida player got past Krzeczowski. The shutout was Krzeczowski's 32nd in just 56 games as she passed Mollie Patton. The Gamecocks will travel to #19 Vanderbilt for their next game on Friday, October 12. |
