| The 18th ranked Gamecocks rolled to a 3-1 win over Greensboro in the opening round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament. Elexa Bahr got the scoring started for Carolina, blowing past a defender and putting a shot into the back left corner of the net. Greensboro became just the second team to score in the first half on USC this year eight minutes later, leaving the score tied at one at the end of the first half. The Gamecocks' leading goal scorer, Lauren Chang, came to the rescue in the second half. Freshman Jylissa Harris dropped a pass into the box where Chang headed it in for her eighth goal of the year. USC added a third goal for good measure when Simone Wark sent a pass in that Harris headed into the net. Chang's game winning goal was her third game winner of the season. USC will play Penn State on Friday, November 16th in the second round. |
